Kelly is a Vice President of Stewart Title -National Commercial Services of DFW.

She has over 20 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry. Her responsibilities at Stewart include developing and maintaining new business relationships in Texas, and throughout the United States, where she has secured numerous multi-million-dollar assets and portfolio transactions. 

In addition to chairing positions at REFEA, Kelly has served on ULI Advisory Board for many years and has chaired numerous positions with the organization.  She has also participated in NMHC, NAIOP, TREC, ICSC and the Junior League of Dallas.

1st Vice President / Treasurer

Nick has more than 10 years of experience providing tax services to a variety of private equity and real estate clients, including development companies, commercial real estate companies, hotel operators and investment funds. Nick has helped clients navigate both domestic and international tax considerations within the real estate and private equity/alternative investment space. Over his career, Nick has aided clients by helping them understand complex partnership agreements and allocation issues. He continues to assist clients by instructing them on how to retain investment and business holdings through tax efficient structures from a domestic and international perspective while not losing sight of general business concerns. He also served as a national instructor for partnership tax training programs.




Joe Peterson has 16+ years of experience in business development and relationship-based consulting within the financial services and real estate industries. He began his career in commercial banking, he has worked for a few of the most notable financial institutions and has brought his knowledge of the financial & credit markets to the real estate industry. He has worked in Chicago and Los Angeles from 2004 – 2016 within the banking & real estate sectors. 

In 2016, Joe joined Stewart Title’s National Commercial Services Group in Los Angeles, within his first year, Stewart approached him to transfer to their DFW team to fill business development opportunity within their group.  As of May 2021, Joe accepted a role with Kensington Vanguard, focusing on business development for commercial & residential real estate services.  Kensington Vanguard is a privately held company, headquartered out of New York.  KV is one of the strongest & largest title agencies in the U.S.

Joe works with commercial real estate developers, ownership groups, REITs, Real Estate Syndications, C&I Lenders, Bridge & Mezzanine Lenders, Bankers, Real Estate Attorneys, Brokers, Home Builders.  My clients are instrumental in directing business to me on their owner-occupied & investment real estate dispositions, acquisitions & refinances in DFW, Texas and across the country where his clients’ transactions take place.



Assistant Secretary

Chris works for Austin Industries, as their Asset Manager & Tax Manager. He handles Austin’s real estate portfolio, including real estate acquisitions, sales, leasing, and the operations for property management. In addition, Chris is a CPA, and manages Austin’s tax department, which encompasses federal, state, and local compliance for Income, Property, and Sales & Use tax.

David Pratt has practiced commercial real estate law in Dallas since 1994.  David is a partner in the Dallas office of Bradley, which is a 550+ attorney law firm founded over 150 years ago, which has offices in 10 cities in the USA. David represents developers and operators in all aspects of commercial real estate transactions, including entity formation, land use planning, purchase and sale, construction, and lending matters. He also represents landlords and tenants in retail, office, and industrial development and leasing transactions. He represents banks and other financial institutions in loan originations, workout, foreclosure, and litigation of loan transactions.  He has walked with clients through both booms and busts in the business cycle, and each experience has made him better prepared to handle the next challenge.

Why REFEA Is important? I first joined REFEA in 1996 when we met at an old Holiday Inn on Mockingbird Lane, then we moved over to Royal Oaks CC in the early 2000’s, and most recently have met at the Dallas Country Club.  Since 2015 I have been an officer and board member of REFEA as a way to contribute to the continuation and improvement of the REFEA organization and to serve the members of REFEA.  I enjoy the camaraderie, professional networking and market information obtained from our speakers and members which makes me a more effective commercial real estate attorney.
